Hospital beds are the basic and the most important part of health material resources which are also used as a key criterion for calculating health resources allocation. The authors identified the method of calculating hospital bed allocation and its mathematical model and calculate the standard amount of hospital bed allocation in Sichuan province from year 2001 to 2005. The method mentioned above is also applied to calculate the standard hospital bed allocation in 21 cities or municipalities.
