A Cultural Analysis of Pound's Mistranslation in the Poem "Blue, blue is the Grass

Ezra Pound is one of the founders of the American Imagist poetry, and Chinese Classic Poetry happened to be a great stimulus as the Renaissance from the Greeks to this poetry movement. Pound, who was deeply fascinated by Chinese poetry, has rendered many into English. Yet due to cultural differences, Pound’s translation has a lot of mistakes. And this paper aims at a cultural analysis of the mistranslation on a certain text to display its influence upon the Imagist Movement in the history of American Poetry.
