摘要
暗喻是一种常见的语言表达形式 ,是一种人们熟知的生动的语体。但由于暗喻表述的是一种与字面意义完全不同的概念 ,这对英语作为外语的学习者来说构成了理解上的困难 ,他们常常发现对许多暗喻句子不能做到准确的理解。该文将从认知科学入手 ,对暗喻的构成成分、生成的根源、理解的方式以及教师如何在施教过程中指导学生准确地理解和使用暗喻句进行探讨。
Metaphor is a common figurative expression in communication. Familiar as it is, it still presents great difficulties to EFL learners in their efforts of accurate understanding due to the fact that it is an instance of the non literal use of language in which the intended prepositional content must be determined by the construction of an analogy. This paper is meant to take a cognitive approach into English metaphor so that it might be of some help to EFL learners and teachers.
