Several methods to prepare Pd supported catalysts were described and their application in the synthesis of fine chemicals was discussed in detail For the synthesis of fine chemicals, the catalysts are normally in small particles and with high Pd loading and activated carbon as support to reduce the mass transfer resistance and endure the corrosion of reaction media As examples, several reactions were given to show the effects of catalyst preparation on the reactivity and selectivity in the synthesis of fine chemicals
