中产阶级是“社会稳定器”吗

在当前社会科学研究中,往往强调中产阶级维护社会稳定的功能,认为中产阶级是社会"稳定器",形成了中产阶级"社会稳定器论"。考察"社会稳定器论"产生的理论渊源和时代背景以及中产阶级在历史发展中的作用,发现中产阶级并不总是具有稳定社会的正功能,中产阶级也会引发社会冲突,社会冲突对于社会发展也具有正功能;相对于社会稳定和冲突,社会和谐才是更高的社会价值追求。

The middle class theory holds that when middle class becomes the majority of a society,the society will be in a stable status.Most theorists agree on this logic.There are,however,two points about the theory:one is that the concepts about the theory should be identified carefully,such as "stable"and "conflict" and so on;the other,there are some successful examples to prove the theory,but there are more and more unsuccessful examples in developed and undeveloping countries.
