A Review of the Studies on GU Hong-ming in the Period of 1978—2008

辜鸿铭以其轶事之怪异、著译之独特、思想之极端成为中国近现代思想文化史上保守知识分子的标志性人物之一。改革开放30年来辜鸿铭研究所取得的成果是在党的"解放思想,实事求是"思想路线感召下思想文化界和理论批评界不断进行思想解放和创新研究的结晶。通过对30年来的辜鸿铭生平轶事、著译与思想文化活动研究的综述,梳理出30年来辜鸿铭研究的主要倾向并指出辜鸿铭研究面临的问题,能够为进一步研究辜鸿铭与其他文化人物的关系、辜鸿铭与近代文化的关系,进而从中国社会与文化转型、现代化转型的角度研究辜鸿铭的思想与历史影响、对其历史地位和影响作出科学评价等研究工作提供必要的前提与准备。

GU Hong-ming is one of the symbolic figures of conservative intellectual in Chinese modern and contemporary ideological and cultural history.
