The Contrast and Comparison Between English and Chinese Sport Vocabulary

通过对所搜集英汉体育词汇语料的分析,在语言学理论的基础上比较出英汉体育词汇的异同,帮助人们更充分地迎接2008北京奥运的到来。体育运动本身就是全球话题,英汉体育词汇固然有很多相通之处。其不同之处表现在:体育用语中使用缩略语时英语与汉语的不同;其他领域词汇向体育用语映射过程中英语与汉语的不同;英语体育运动词汇中同一个词汇可以描述不同的运动项目,汉语则不同;英语体育词汇中同一个动作在不同运动项目中有不同的表达方法,汉语则不同。究其原因两者的不同之处是由英语语言本身的词化程度较强,以及英汉两种语言所在文化背景不同所引起的。
