口愿书是陕北说书重要的演唱形态,陕北农村口愿书具有相对固定的仪式行为和说唱程序,与民俗生活联系紧密,是民众向神灵许愿、还愿、报答神恩的行为方式,具有显明的民俗宗教特色。陕北农村口愿书反映了陕北农村多神灵信仰以及民众祈保平安、消灾免难的心理。

As one of important forms of folk art in Northern Shaanxi,votive story-telling is a part of folk religious activity with relatively fixed rite behavior and extemporizing procedure which possesses heavy religious atmosphere.It reflects that the majority of people in rural areas in northern Shaanxi believe in gods and their mentality prays to be protected by the gods.
