Future air combat environment has become more critical, this paper sets forth the characteristics of the laser air defense weapons and the operational mechanism of damage,and point out that the laser air defense weapon is more adapt to anti-missile air defense operations than other air defense weapons,and analyses the foreign air defense weapons development,and explore and analyses of the development trend of the laser air defense weapon in the future.
