Niche theory is a powerful theoretical and practical tool.Based on the concept of the Niche theory,this article attempts to apply the Niche theory to the developmental strategies of the library consortia.With a view to the existing problems,the strategies of Niche rank,Niche expansion and Niche co-evolution are applied to promote the development of the library consortia in the case of rational positioning,mismatch competition,characteristic construction,and competition and cooperation.
