合阳线戏为我国木偶戏中历史最早的,是中国北方提线木偶的仅存剧种。合阳线戏的渊源十分久远。"起于汉而兴于唐",历经汉、魏、北齐、隋、唐、元、明、清各朝,目前,由于市场经济的冲击,新的艺术形式的挑战和地方经济的贫困,合阳提线木偶戏的生存环境十分艰难。

Heyang marionette is one of the earliest puppet shows in China and the only suvival type of stringed puppet in North China.Heyang marionette has a long history that it originated in Han Dynasty and flourished in Tang Dynasty,going through the different dynasties as Wei,Northern Qi,Sui,Tang,Yuan,Ming,Qing.However,owing to the impact of marketing economy,the challenge of new art pattern and local underdeveloped economy,Heyang marionette is falling into a tough time.
