Book Club is an English teaching approach fully integrating listening, speaking, reading and writing. Based on aesthetic appreciation of classic American children’s literature, students are strongly encouraged to engage in meaning construction and multiple forms of dialogues with the literature texts, with the aim of enhancing overall English proficiency. The application of this approach is illustrated by Natalie Babbitt’s master-piece, Tuck Everlasting.
