彭燕郊在湖南生活58年,且关注、搜集、研究湖南民间文学,写过楚辞方面的舞剧,因此其晚年诗歌中蕴含着相当丰富的湘楚意蕴:描摹湖南的自然景象、山水、人情乃至劳动场景;吸收、借鉴湖南民间文学,描写湖南民间风俗;关心生存的意义与价值,思考个人、民族乃至整个人类的命运与前途,赞美饱满酣畅、元气淋漓的生命。

Peng Yanjiao had been lived in Hunan Province for fifty eight years.He wrote so many poems in his later years which imply much aroma of Xiangchu culture because he had paid much attention to the studying of Hunan folk literature,had written dance drama based on the Songs of Chu(Chuci) during his living in Hunan.The aroma of Xiangchu was expressed by his describing the landscapes of the nature and the people s working scenes in Hunan,by absorbing and drawing lessons from Hunan folk literature and customs,by ...
