试论清末时期的农业教育

On the late Qing Dynasty agricultural education

中国古代就有"重农抑商"的传统思想,但并没有重视对农业的教育。随着西方国家的入侵,统治阶级才逐渐意识到农业对于富国强兵的重要作用和我国在农业技术方面远远落后于西方国家的事实。为增强国家的国力抵抗外国的侵略,为发展农业,清政府积极开展农业教育,兴办了一系列农业学堂。农业教育的兴办培养了一批农业技术人员,推动了农业的进步。这一举措对于促进农业的近代化也起了积极的作用。
