The Influence of Personality on English Learning

本文通过对随机抽取的 70名英语学习者的调查 ,并借助心理语言学的研究方法 ,初步探索了性格倾向对英语综合能力和若干专业技能的影响程度 ,最后得出的结论表明 :在英语综合能力上 ,性格内向者与外向者不分上下 ;而在英语专业技能上 ,除了口语、听力理解与写作基本上不受性格倾向影响之外 ,其他技能均与性格倾向存在着不同程度的线性相关 ;其中 ,在听写方面外向者占有较大优势 ,而在完形填空、阅读理解、词汇 -语法方面 。

With the aid of the measures in psycholinguistics,this paper presents an initiative probe into the influence of personality upon English comprehensive and specific skills by means of the research into 70 arbitrarily chosen English learners.The results show that personality has little influence on one s comprehensive skills.However,as far as the specific skills are concerned,all skills have certain linear correlation with personality except spoken English,listening comprehension and writing.To be more exact...
