There 68 sets of 60kA aluminium electrolytic cells have been put into production in Yunnan Aluminium Company. Based on the deformation of cell hearth and the damage of square steel and carbon block of cathodes, the relationship between lifetime of cells and the quality of cell hearth, cathode square steel and carbon block is discussed.
