远程高等教育是新中国高等教育体系的重要组成部分,是非传统高等教育的主力和骨干。进一步开发远程高等教育的功能,对于推进中国高等教育改革、构建终身教育体系、形成学习社会具有深刻的现实和长远意义。作者运用实证分析和统计分析,探讨了20世纪我国远程高等教育功能开发的基本状况、存在问题及功能开发不良的成因。

China s higher distance education has made a great contribution to the socialist modern construction in 20 years. Facing the challenges of new century, China s higher distance education must be further developed. This paper tries to analyze the current situation of China s higher distance education and to explore its developing reasons, which is aimed to offer some reference to the corresponding planning, decision - making and practice.
