农业在西部经济中占有很大的比重。西部农业的现状不尽人意 :基础薄弱 ,投入多 ,产出少 ,效率低下 ,极大地制约着西部经济的发展。西部大开发为西部农业的深层次变革提供了良好的历史机遇。必须把生态环境建设作为西部农业革命的切入点 ,着力调整农业现存结构 ,加大科技投入 ,全面提高农民素质 ,走可持续发展的路子 ,才能实现西部农业的新飞跃。

Agriculture has an important role in western economy.Western agriculture has many unfavourable factors:fragile foundation,high investment and low production,etc.The development of western part provides the good opportunity for the deep change of western agriculture.To realize the new leap of western agriculture,it is necessarily to construct the environment,adjust agriculture structure,enlarge the investment of science and technology,improve the farmer′s staff and adopt the road of continual development.
