摘要
In its pursuit of modernization,Egypt has always been split between tow forces:religion and the state. The two forces strangled with each other from time to time, thus make Egypt’s modernization more difficult, more dramatic, and full of tragedies.Secularism is a prerequisite of a nation’s modernization.Egypt’s failure in carrying through secularization, which means(and only means)the separation of the state and religion, sets up a obstacle in its way toward modernization.
