外语教育:新世纪展望高校外语教学改革的几点思考

Reflections on FLT reform in China's universities in the 21st century

本文认为外语教育从广义上说也是一种素质教育，传统的外语教育观念必须转变，应该从对外语人才的专业素质培养向全面素质培养转变，应该重视对学生的终身学习能力的培养，这将是我国外语教学改革的一次飞跃，并将随着21世纪的到来和我国社会发展的进程而对我国高校外语教学产生历史性和革命性的影响；论文还就21世纪外语教师的素质和能力提出了看法。

This paper proposes that foreign language education is, in a broad sense, a 'quality-oriented education.' By changing the convertional views of foreign language teaching, we should turn from cultivating only the professional ability to an all-round and life-long education of foreign language students. The present author believes that this will be a revolutionary change in FLT in China's universities and will set higher requirements for university foreign language teachers in the 21st century.
