珠江口中华白海豚的初步调查

Preliminary investigation on the Sousa chinensis in the Pearl River Estuary

珠江口是中华白海豚的重要栖息地之一,近年来由于水域环境的恶化,对其生存已构成严重的威胁.为了解珠江口中华白海豚的种群数量和分布状况,于1997年11月下旬至1998年11月上旬采用了截线法(Line transect method)进行了持续1年的调查.并根据现场观测资料侧重对珠江口中华白海豚的种群组成、数量分布格局及其季节变化和行为生态等作了初步的探讨.

The Pearl River Estuary is a main habitat of Sousa chinensis; and its existence is seriously threatened due to deterioration of the waters environment lately. In order to indicate the abundance and distribution of Sousa chinensis, Sousa chinensis, in the Pearl River Estuary, survey efforts had been conducted for one year from late Nov. 1997 to early Nov.1998. Line transect method was used for the dolphin survey. According to the site data and information obtained from the survey, the component, abundance, distribution, season change and behaviour partterns of Sousa chinensis in the Pearl River Estuary were investigated preliminarily.
