The U.S.Congress Senate and the Hou s e of Representatives have passed the law of National Missile Defense (NMD)in Mar ch,1999.The law stipulates once the system is successfully developed,U.S.A. shou ld dispose it immediately,which has caught wide-ranging attention from the worl d and p ub lic opinion.This paper introduces the evolution of the U.S.Ballistic Missile Def ense(BMD)plans and NMD's composition,performance and basic configuration and the interception test situation of NMD system.
