摘要
校训是一所学校的灵魂,代表着校园文化和教育理念。从词汇、句法、修辞等方面比较了中西大学校训的语言特点,分析中西大学校训的不同文化蕴含,最后对国内校训的现象进行总结和思考,指出校训应彰显个性,体现大学的办学理念。
School Mottos,the soul of the schools,reflect their campus cultures and education orientations.The paper first compared the language features of Chinese and western university mottos from the following aspects: lexical,syntactical and rhetorical features.It then analyzed the different cultural connotations of university mottos.Finally,the phenomenon of Chinese university mottos was discussed and it has been pointed out that the university motto should reflect the university′s orientation and its individuality.
