The advantages and disadvantages of both cupola melting and induction furnace melting were introduced.Taking the melting cost structures and investment cost in equipment of two foundry enterprises, which using cupola and induction furnace respectively, as examples, their running cost, environmental protection and casting quality was analyzed and concluded that, taking the environmental protection and casting quality in consideration, the induction furnace is more superior than cupola, although the cost of cupola melting is relatively lower.
