甘英出使大秦受阻原因分析

The Cause of Blocking Gan Ying's Accreditation to Da Qin,the Ancient Rome

汉和帝永元九年(97)甘英出使大秦,到达地为今天的波斯湾沿岸,由于大海阻隔,未能完成使命。本文对学术界有关甘英出使中途而返的原因进行了分析,认为甘英返回是多种原因造成的,史书中记载的"海中有思慕之物,往者莫不悲怀"是阻止甘英渡海的最直接原因。

In the ninth Yongyuan year(97 AD),Han He Di period,Gan Ying was accredited as an ambassador to Da Qin,the ancient Rome.Although he didn't reach his destination Da Qin owing to the wide sea,he traveled as far west and reached the Persian Gulf.The paper analyzes the various causes of his halted expedition offered by the scholars and concludes that several causes combined lead to his failure of mission,among which the exaggeration of the difficulty in crossing the sea may serve as the direct reason to block his journey.
