With a brief introduction to the alternation of the dominant languages around the world and an analysis of the five types of minority language policies practiced overseas,the article elaborates the language policies implemented in Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan,pointing out the existing problems and lessons with these policies as well as with those carried out in other countries.
