On Opportunity

机遇不是摆在我们面前的永远不变的有利条件或有利形势，而是一种机会，一种稍纵即逝的际遇。在我国社会主义现代化建设的过程中，我们曾丧失过不少机遇。面对世纪之交的历史机遇，我们的党和国家已做好了准备，决心抓住机遇用好机遇，加速发展，实现中华民族在新世纪的腾飞。

Opportunity is rather a transient chance than un unchanging favourable situation. We have missed a lot of chances during the construction of socialist modernization. China is resolved to seize and utilize the appertunity in the turn of a century as to accerlerate the development making our mother land more prosperous.
