该文肯定了高等教育出版社出版的《实用英语》作为非英语专业21世纪高职高专规划教材,是一套紧跟形势,强调听、说、读、写译各项基本技能全面发展,注重学以致用的,知识性、趣味性、实用性俱佳的,难得的好教材。同时也指出了该书存在的一些不足、疏漏与错误。

It is affirmed in this paper that the textbooks Practical English (Second Edition), which were published by the Higher Education Press, are a set of rare good textbooks with knowledgeability, interestedness and practicability. As a set of the 21st century's college public English textbooks, they keep in step with the times, pay much attention to the applicability and emphasize all-sided development of English learning. Yet they still have some shortcomings, oversights and errors, some of which are pointed out in this paper.
