The Challenges to Women's Development in the New Century

在我国经济转型期的新世纪初期 ,女性还面临着很多挑战 :参政问题上 ,还存在着同等条件下用男不用女的问题 ;在有的公共政策中 ,还存在性别歧视问题 ;传媒中还把女性定位于家庭 ;婚姻家庭中还存在家庭暴力等等。广大女性要抓住机遇 ,迎接挑战 ,就必须提高自身素质 ,确立现代女性价值观 ,肯定女性的文化价值 ,利用自身的有益资源 。

The new century offers women great opportunities.But during this economic transition,they are faced with challenges.In political involvement,men,other than women,are prefered.Gender discrimination exists in the public policies.The media still restrict women in household chore.Violence still exists in family and marriage.If women want to jump at the opportunities to face the Challenge,they have to improve their qualities,to set up modern women's value outlook,to be positive of women's values in culture,to make full use of women's resourse in order to enhance their comprehensive capacities.
