唐太宗伐高丽的缘起、过程及失败原因探析

唐武德年间,高丽向唐称臣朝贡。但至贞观十六年,高丽莫离支弑君,独掌大权,并联合百济攻打新罗,使辽东陷入战乱。唐太宗为平衡各藩国势力,加强对辽东的控制,在调节不成的情况下,于贞观十八年至二十二年,御驾亲征或是命大将率兵,几度从陆路和海路征伐高丽。但是由于仓储不足、东北气候恶劣、高丽山城防御坚固、交通不畅、错失战机等原因,导致唐军皆兵疲而归,最终未能平定高丽,攻克其都城平壤。
