中国近代著名革命家章太炎不仅深入研究过佛学,而且造诣颇深。他在研究佛学的过程中融会了国学思想,故其佛学思想内容丰富,影响广泛。章太炎不仅从学理上阐发佛教哲学的基本观点,考辨大乘源流,评判中国佛教流派,呼吁佛教改革,还将佛学作为资产阶级民主革命的思想武器,为佛教在近代中国的复兴做出了贡献。

Zhang Taiyan,a famous Chinese revolutionist in modern times,is very familiar with Buddhism.He blended ancient Chinese thought into his studies of Buddhism,thus his thought is broad and rich in content with great influence.Zhang Taiyan recognizes the Mahayana origin and development,comments on Chinese Buddhism schools,appeals to Buddhism reformation from elucidating Buddhism philosophy basic concept,what's more,he uses Buddhaism as a bourgeois-democratic revolution weapon,making contribution for the Buddhism development in modern China.
