知识计量学的创生,是社会需求与科学知识体系内在发展交互作用的结果,有其历史必然性。知识计量学与文献计量学、科学计量学、信息计量学等近邻学科有着复杂的交联关系:知识计量学包含着文献计量学、科学计量学的主体部分,而文献计量学、科学计量学又有知识计量学所不能完全包含的内容;信息计量学完整地包含知识计量学,知识计量学是信息计量学的主体部分,知识计量学展示着信息计量学的深化方向。知识计量学的研究框架,在纵向上包括知识单元、知识链索、知识群落、知识网络、知识体系五个研究层次,在横向上包括普通知识计量学、知识类别计量学、知识过程计量学、知识产品计量学、知识评价计量学五个基本研究领域。

It is historical inevitability that the creation of knowmetrics is the result of the interaction between social needs and internal development of scientific knowledge system.There are complex relationships among knowmetrics to bibliometrics,scientometrics and informetrics as the close neighboring disciplines.Knowmetrics includes bibliometrics and the main body of scientometrics,however,bibliometrics and scientometrics can not be fully measured by knowmetrics.Informetrics includes full knowmetrics that is the main body of informetrics.Knowmetrics displays the deepening development of informetrics.The research framework of knowmetrics includes two domains,one is on the vertical unit which has five research levels as knowledge blocks,knowledge chains,knowledge communities,knowledge networks and knowledge systems.The other is on the parallel which has five basic research domains as general knowmetrics,knowledge categories metrology,knowledge process metrology,knowledge products metrology and knowledge evaluation metrology.
