On Difference Politics and Multi-civilization:Comments on the "Analysis on Multi-politics" of Payi and the "Conflicts of Civilization" of Huntington

帕依的"多元政治文化分析"和亨廷顿的"文明冲突论"是典型的后现代差异政治观的代表,它们把多元文化、文明作为理解差异政治的切入点,为理解多级的世界政治格局提供了一种新的研究路径,但同时它们也过分彰显和强调了当今政治学中差异与冲突的固有性和不可避免性。只有辩证地理解政治文化中的异与同,用辩证的观点来审视文化、文明中的差异以及后现代差异政治观,才能科学把握纷繁复杂的世界政治图景,弘扬和平与发展的时代主题。

Payi’s 'Analysis on Multi-politics' and Huntington’s 'Conflicts of Civilization' are typical examples of postmodernist views on difference politics. Taking multi-culture and multi-civilization as the departure point, they represented a new approach to understanding the multilevel political structure. However, they over-exaggerated the inherence and the inevitability of differences and conflicts in modern politics. Only a dialectic view can offer a scientific picture of the complex world politics to reveal peace and development as the theme of the times.
