随着理性之光普照大地,科学技术的日益发展,人们的生活发生了从前所无法想象的变化,叹为观止的物质世界精益求精的程度使最神圣的价值却不知所踪。文章从技术理性和价值理性的区分入手,认为技术理性是以人类改造自然、创造人工自然的活动为其根本内容、以人造物为目的的思维活动过程。而价值理性则体现一个人对价值问题的理性思考,它关怀人性的世界,相信人对价值和意义的追问、人的最终归宿和终极关怀是这个世界的重心所在。同时阐述了理性概念的发展与变迁,技术理性和价值理性分裂的原因和后果,指出科学发展观中以人为本的理念可以为弥合两者的分裂、走出人类的生存困境提供新的契机和出路。
