The concept of 'synonymic means' or 'synonymic selection' that Wang Xijie has discussed for many times in his rhetoric books has important significance in the field of rhetoric.Wang Xijie regards rhetoric activities as activities to select from different synonymic means and rhetoric as summation of the planning of selection laws for synonymic means.He thinks rhetoric as knowledge to select synonymic means.It will be a great achievement of linguistics if such a new rhetorical system can be established and extended.
