摘要
文章通过对中国学习者英语语料库(CLEC)和英国国家语料库(BNC)的比较研究发现,中国学习者过度使用表示提高程度的强化语,倾向于用单一强化语替代其他同类强化语;最高程度语和减弱语的使用频率较低,对一些高频减弱语的理解有偏差,错误较多;对于强化语语义韵的把握与本族语者有一定差别;不能根据所要表达的语义特点选择恰当的强化语,用词单一、不够准确,受母语迁移影响较大,并呈现中介语学习过程中的石化现象。
Intensifiers used by Chinese learners of English are studied by comparing CLEC and BNC.The findings are that very is overused by Chinese learners of English,while other intensifiers are underused and frequently substituted by very.Learners misunderstand some downtoners and misuse them.Learners' English differs from native speakers' in the lack of diversity of intensifiers and is influenced by their native language transfer.Conspicuous differences are found in the use of intensifiers in their prosody.Fossilization is shown in the learners' use of English intensifiers.
