In the last article I wrote I discussed the requirements an engineeringspecification must meet to become a successful standard; and the role of specifications andstandards in achieving interoperability. IT moves forward quickly, and best practice forarchitect-ing and achieving interoperability is no exception - so in this article I discuss the rolethat Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services can play in achieving ''interoperability bydesign''.
