The informationization of sources,education and decisions construct the informationization of society.In the era of information,information has overtaken capital and labor to become the most important factor of productivity.The ability of using information sources should be one of the main content of college education.This paper discusses the connotation and function of information education,as well as the necessity to implement information education in college students.It also analyzes the current status and advantages of implementing information education in college libraries and puts forward some strategies of how to implement information education.
