On the Development of Poetry Translation Theory in the Early Stage of the 20th Century

诗歌翻译被认为是难度最大的翻译。我国诗歌翻译理论的研究始于晚清时期,到20世纪初,达到兴盛。胡适、徐志摩、朱自清、王佐良、许渊冲等人的诗歌翻译理论的论述,见证了中国20世纪初诗歌翻译理论的发展。

Poetry translation is generally regarded as the most difficult translation.The source of poetry translation theories in our country can be dated back to the late of Qing Dynasty and they were flourishing in the early stage of the 20th century.This paper aims at making readers get a general view of the development of poetry translation theories in the early 20th century by conducting the research of poetry translation theories respectively raised by Hu Shi,Xu Zhimo,Zhu Ziqing,Wang Zuoliang and Xu Yuanchong.
