Culture Influence on Sculptures of China and the West

中西方不同的哲学世界观决定了中西方雕塑的不同文化精神。文章对此展开论述,指出人始终是西方文化和西方雕塑的主题。而中国古代雕塑中主体性的人常成为退守状态,被塑者常是“被看”把玩的对象,中国古代雕塑较多的是动物像、佛像,却鲜见纪念性人物雕像。古代人的缺憾恰为现代人提供了演练的平台。如何和西方文化相交流,又如何继承传统、剔除糟粕,该是每一个雕塑工作者认真思考的问题。

The different culture influence on sculptures of China and the west depended on the different philosophy and worldview of the two opposites. The paper took it as the main content and pointed that people were the motif of west culture and west sculptures. On the contrary, the motif of ancient Chinese sculptures were “object”such as animals and Buddha but not “subject”,for example, commemorative figural sculptures. It was a good chance for we moderns to perfect what ancient-artists didn’t done. How to communicate with the west and how to inherit our tradition as well discard the dross were an important questions that we should pay much attention to.
