摘要
本研究旨在比较中国英语专业学生和非英语专业学生学习第二语言英语的动机。采用调查问卷和统计分析的方法探讨了两组群体间的英语学习动机的异同。结果显示,学生和非英语专业学生在8个因素中的6个因素上没有发现显著的差异,但是在自我认证和自我激励两个因素上具有非常显著的差异。非英语专业学生的自我认证与自我激励动机高于英语专业学生,非英语专业学生学习英语更主动积极。本调查结果对于目前中国大学英语教学具有一定的启示。
This study aims to compare the second language motivation for Chinese students majoring in English and those in a major other than English.It first employs the investigating questionnaire and statistical method to find out the differences and similarities of motivation between the two groups of students.The results show that there are no significant differences between English major students and non-English major students in 6 out of 8 factors.Howerer,there are significant differences between English major students and non-English major students in the two factors of 'Identified Regulation' and 'Introjected Regulation'.Then it comes to the conclusion that non-English major students' identified motivations and introjected motivations are higher than those of English major students.This study may give us some enlightenment for university English education in China.
