大学理念主要关注大学的功能定位、人才培养、科学研究、社会服务诸方面的内在规律及其关系等涉及到办学思想的基本问题,大学精神是大学自身存在和发展中形成的具有独特气质的精神形式的文明成果,它是科学精神的时代标志和具体凝聚,是整个人类社会文明的高级形式,它要比大学理念具有更高的文化价值。大学精神可概括为创造精神、独立精神、批判精神、科学精神和社会关怀精神。

University ideation mainly focuses on university's functions,students' development,scientific research,and serving the society.All these aspects have inner relationships,and result in a fundamental issue of the university: the spirit of the university.The spirit of a university is the unique cultural product developed through years of her foundation and development.It indicates the scientific spirit,and has more cultural values than university ideation.It can be summarized as follows: the spirits of creation,independence,criticism,science and concern for the society.
