Seeing the World from Children's Eyes: On the Children's Narrative Strategy in Eudora Welty's "June Recital"

尤多拉.韦尔蒂是美国南方文学的代表作家之一。她在短篇小说《六月演奏会》中放弃了传统的全知叙事策略,让两名儿童来讲述发生的故事。透过这样不谙世事的儿童眼光,男权压制下女性生活的压抑被儿童不经意间揭示出来。而这一点似乎也正是作家创作的目的所在。

Eudora Welty is one of the leading writers of South American Literature.In her short story 'June Recital',Welty abandons the traditional omniscient narration,and tells the story of two women from two children's points of view.Women's life under men's oppression seems to be accidentally revealed through immature children's eyes.This is perhaps the design of the author.
