The Study of the Emotional Strength in Liu Yuxi’s Poems

刘禹锡诗歌的感情豪迈、深沉,具有比较强烈的感染力,这种感染力来自作品深刻的思想内蕴:人格魅力、执着精神、智慧力量。但是,由于情感的表现内敛而有节制,讲究蕴藉含蓄,重视向诗歌深层意蕴方面开掘,刘禹锡诗歌的情感力度又不表现为因重气势而具有巨大的冲击力。这种情感力度特征及其形成对他的诗风形成有较大影响,使得刘禹锡以峻朗的诗歌风格在中唐诗坛众多诗人中独树一帜。

Liu Yuxi’s poems were full of affections, audacious and unswerving, deep and complex, which was intensely and profoundly contagious. This was rooted in the substantial and insightful ideaistic implications of his works: charisma of personality, resolution of mind, power of wisdom. But since the expression of affections was connoted and constrained, emphasis was therefore attached to the implications and connotations of poems. The emotional strength of Liu Yuxi’s poems was not achieved through the direct and great impact force of a vigorous style. This constitute one important feature of his poem style. Among numerous poets in the middle of Tang Dynasty, Liu Yuxi’s poems were characteristic of their clarity, austerity and lucidity.
