This paper describes the working principle of the hydraulic rams,and emphases on the installation site selection,operation frequency adjustment and necessary measure for avoiding the frozen in winters and block in the operation.The hydraulic ram is a kind of device which is driven by the potential energy involved in the water head in the streams and river.It could lift the water without any consumption of the conventional energy,such as electricity and diesel.The technology could provide water for the irrigation in the hilly dry land,orchards,tea gardens,bamboo and for the water supply in the animal husbandry as well as for the decentralize domestic water supply for farmer families.
