摘要
When I heard the resume of university entranceexamination (UEE), I was nearly 30 years old and workedin the countryside in late autumn. I thought and thoughtmany days. At last, I deemed that it was a good time forme, so I decided that I had to try and not to let it passalthough there were many difficulties to me. In fact, I hadnot study for ten years since I was graduated from highschool. The urgent affairs for me were how to review what Ihad learnt in the high school and how to get the refreshercourses. It happened that Liaoning Daily printed the review syllabus, and Teacher Lu Xiuzhen posted me acope of syllabus, which made me excited and tearswelled from my eyes when I got it. Based on the syllabus,I was enrolled into Liaoning University. As soon as I gotthe notice, I met with Teacher Lu and gave a bow to her.The UEE that year started in winter for the first timein China. The examination place was at the No.56 MiddleSchool, where there were dozens of examination rooms, each of which was crowded with examinees who werealmost the same age as me. My wife’s sister and I werein the same examination room, but I couldn’t help herdespite that she studied not so well as me.When I saw the Chinese test paper, I was veryexcited because the subject of the composition wasalmost the same as I had reviewed. The difference wasthat only one Chinese character was not same. Thesubject in the paper was "During the Ebullient Days", andthe subject I had prepared well was "During the JubilationDays". How lucky I was! Without any hesitance, I finishedmy composition in a short time. I remembered that theteacher invigilated in our room smiled to me as he saw mycomposition. Not long ago, as I accompanied my son to the DalianUniversity of Maritime Affairs, I told my story to him, buthe felt at a loss and didn’t understand what I experiencedbefore. Perhaps this was a generation gap. I stillremembered because it became a milestone in Chinaafter the so-called Great Revolution.
