摘要
英语语言性别歧视主要表现有:职业名称男性化、歧视性的女性称谓和男、女词汇表达上的差异。性别词汇语义扩大或缩小以及搭配意义的变化是其产生的主要在原因;应采用中性词汇、去前缀和后缀、委婉语等方式取代性别歧视性的词汇。
Sexual discrimination in English language can be demonstrated in the following aspects: male-orien-teed professional name, discriminating female name, diverse expressions concerned with male and female. It results from extension and restriction in meaning of sexual words and changes in collocative meaning. Finally, the writer points out that selecting neuter vocabulary, omitting prefix and suffix, and employing euphemism are the ideal methods to replace the discriminating sexual words.
