This paper explores the great significance of building up a high-level contingent of teachers for China's colleges and universities, and it makes a special research on the teachers and the core teachers as well as the whole contingent of the teachers' spirit of innovation and the innovation mechanism so as to probe into holding the key link for building up a contingent of teachers and the approach to the construction of the first-rank universities.
