My View on Idiom Translation

文化对习语的形成有着深刻的影响，文化差异导致了习语翻译的最大困难。本文从分析习语与 文化的关系入手，论证了习语翻译的一个重要原则──内容与形式相统一。译者不仅应把习语 的内容翻译给读者，还要尽可能为读者翻译出习语的形式，使读者充分品味异国文化。

A culture has great influences upon the formation of idioms.Cultural differences cause the biggest problem in idiom trans1ation.The paper,by analyzing the relationship between idioms and cul- tures, discusses a very important principle of idiom trans1ation──unity of content and form. Translators should not only present the meaning of idioms to the readers, but shape up as perfectly as possible.
