College Engineering Students in the Time of Social Transformation: An Analysis of the Characteristics of Their Values and Our Managerial Strategies

社会转型期工科大学生的价值观念具有鲜明的时代性 ,表现出较强的自我意识以及务实和功利的倾向。为此 ,在教育引导和管理策略上应该以“三个代表”重要思想为指导 ,坚持积极的正面引导 ,注重人文精神的培养 ,强化整体思维方式 ,树立可持续发展的成才观。

In the period of social transformation, the values of college engineering students, who are fairly pragmatic and materialistic as well as strongly self_conscious, reflect the characteristics of the times. Therefore, in terms of the management of students affairs, we should follow the theory of 'three represents' as our guiding principle in our instructions and managerial strategies. Our task should be insisting on the policy of positive guidance, imbuing them with humanistic spirit, strengthening their integrate way of thinking, and thus helping them shape a view of sustainable development in their individual life and career.
